Lovely old Sailors/Captains sea chest, dating from the 2nd Quarter of the 1800's.
Still retaining most of its aged white chippy paint, time worn from the salt water and sea air after many years at sea. 

Metal bound with what looks to be its original waxed cloth on the top, and still with its wrought iron lifting handles to each side.
The inside is clean with a candle box and sliding drawer. Very substantial, and very heavy, it must have needed 4 people to carry it when full.
I imagine this could tell some seriously salty dog tales.
